Happy Birthday to me

Yesterday March 30, was my birthday, it was the best Birthday i ever had,
1st my neighbor #5 is what I call her she brought 3 of her grandchildren here,my grandson H. was also here, she brought me a beautiful tulip flowers, and cupcakes, the kids sang happy birthday to me and they ate cupcakes,  while we were having a party ,my sister came in with another beautiful flower a house plant. about an hour later my daughter,granddaughter, and Chance, brought me a bag of goodies, a turtle,a frog,and a gieco, I love animals for my garden........
later they brought me a happy birthday cake., so good.......I also got a birthday call from my other grandson D.the only thing that would have made this day better would have been for  my son to call me but he never remembers.....ohn well............thanks for letting me get this out.....love u all Donna

X and O quilt

This is some of the fabric that I am useing for my X and O quilt....Some   time ago I was watching U-Tube  and seen a tutorial on X ad O quilt by the Missourt quilt Comp....I fell in love with it, and it looked so simple so I finally decided to give it a try It started with a 5(five )in block.....and halff of that for the sew and flip on two opposite corners

 White is the color for the corners that will be the background )sorta_  .....Draw a line down the middle....I have the best pens, the heat fusion pens that you can write anything  on fabric, and it will Iron away...love them.....anyway line up the 2and 1/2 block on the corner and sew down the middle....

 I start with a scrap of fabric before I start so that the corner will not get caught in the needle.......

 As you can see I am useing Aurifil threads, they are fantastic.....I have to put mine in a cup,cause I don't have a big spool to put it on......it works wonderful........

 I cant think of what this is called when you do one after another without lifting the presser foot or cutting your threads.....anyway thats how I am doing mine, sewing all the white squares on one corner,then I will Iron the piece, then cut the back pieces off to about 1/4 inch from the sewn line

Hi, sure no one is seeing this its been awhile since my last post, too much going on around here,.  Daughter moved in with me and my three grandchildren so there is always something.....I need a new camera so i can take pictures before i really start to blog again.....that will be soon.......well see ya later when I get the camera, maybe today,,,,,,,Donna

X-Acto Winner

Good Morning,
   Last week, on Judy Hurwills blog at http://approachable-art.blogspot.com she had a givaway from the X-Acto company ( www.sbcadvertising.com )a $25.oo gift card....   Oh happy day....I was the second winner and yesterday my packge arrived,  

I was so excited, I got ready and went to walmart.....(hate to go there).....anyway, I found the X-Acto section, and was mesmerazied.....I wanted everything there,,,,now I gotta chose...so I know I wanted a knife, a swivel one, yes,,and some blades, I also needed a mat,  (still had money left) so I chose another knife and more blades......It took me about 30 minutes to deside...  (all the glue, glue dots, oh the Paper cutter, and the circle cutter, and wow those gel pens, ( I already have those and I love them..) actually need , mine is almost out, but I have had them for 6 months or longer.....oh well ....got to the checkout and she said that I owed her $12.00 more......wow, wait a minute, no I counted right but something is wrong.....the swivel knife was on a rack that said $7.00, but it was $10.00 and the blades for that knife was $5.99, but on a rack that said $2.00.....the lady at check out, called back to the craft dept to have them check on the price, they said" the price is what ever it comes up .....they didn't even check...stupid people, that why I hate walmart.......so I had to give up the swivel knife and the blades, and still have $4.00 on my card.....still cant figure it out.....math dont add up....anyway I love my stuff....
